Bangalore Metro Rail Corporation Limited (BMRCL) has entered into a 13-year agreement with Advanced Communications and Electronics Systems Company (ACES) India Private Limited to implement and manage advanced communication systems for Namma Metro. This agreement, signed on July 14th, covers multiple sections of the metro, including Phase-I extensions, Reach-5, and Reach-6... of Phase-II. ACES will set up and maintain telecom infrastructure like In-Building Solutions (IBS), Base Transceiver Stations (BTS), cellular towers, and poles to ensure seamless mobile connectivity. This aims to improve mobile service for commuters, support multiple mobile network operators, reduce deployment costs, and enable 4G and 5G services. The BMRCL Managing Director, M Maheshwar Rao, noted the positive impact on commuters, who often experience connectivity issues in metro stations and tunnels. This agreement is expected to benefit the large number of passengers regularly using the metro.
