Kolkata Metro is expanding its services from August 11th on three lines (East-West, Green Line-2, and Purple Line) to manage increasing passenger volume and reduce overcrowding. Green Line-1 will see extended service hours (6:35 AM to 10:00 PM, previously 6:55 AM to 10:00 PM) and will have 106 trains running daily... from Monday to Saturday, with no service on Sundays. Green Line-2 (Howrah Maidan to Esplanade) will have 134 trains daily from August 11th (6:30 AM to 9:53 PM, previously 7:00 AM to 9:53 PM), with normal Sunday service. The Purple Line (Joka-Majerhat) will operate 80 trains from Monday onwards (6:50 AM to 9:14 PM, previously 7:57 AM to 8:32 PM).
