Chennai ka third-largest terminal, Tambaram Railway Station mein mobility upgrade ke liye 9 lifts aur 10 escalators lagaye jayenge. Yeh facilities ek naye, 8-meter चौड़े Foot Over Bridge (FOB) par install kiye jayenge, jisse platforms tak access, senior citizens aur disabled persons ke liye behtar ho sake. Southern Railway ne installation... ke liye tender float kiya hai. Naya FOB sabhi platforms ko connect karega, unlike the existing one. Yeh Chennai Egmore se diverted trains aur badhti hui suburban aur long-distance traffic ke karan passengers ki संख्या badhne se related hai. Lifts barrier-free access provide karenge, aur escalators passenger flow ko improve karenge. Divisional Railway Manager, Shailendra Singh, project ki frequently inspections kar rahe hain. Dusre FOB par bhi similar facilities plan kiye ja rahe hain. Residents ne is initiative ko welcome kiya hai, lekin east-side connectivity, bada circulating area, aur wider approach road ki demand ki hai. ഇന്റർസിറ്റി ഇത്തിരികൂടി ഇഴയും; കന്റോൺമെന്റിൽ എത്തുക 7.18നു പകരം 8.13ന്
The Ernakulam-KSR Bengaluru Intercity Express (16378), downgraded from Superfast, will now arrive at Cantonment station one hour later, at 8:13 PM instead of 7:18 PM. The train's arrival at KSR Bengaluru, its final destination, will be delayed to 9 PM from the current 7:30 PM. The Intercity, which currently terminates at... SMVT Bengaluru, will resume stopping at Cantonment station from the 15th, when the service begins and ends at KSR Bengaluru station. This change comes after the Intercity service was diverted to SMVT since August 15 due to renovation work at KSR Bengaluru station. The Intercity has been experiencing significant delays, sometimes up to 2-3 hours. The average speed of the train was below 55 km/h, leading to its reclassification as an express. The train, which was the fastest on the Bengaluru-Ernakulam route before the Vande Bharat Express, covers 578 kilometers in 10 hours and 45 minutes and retains the original 14 stops. Concerns are raised about removing the Karmaaram stop in favor of a stop at Belandur Road station as part of the doubling of the Baiyappanahalli-Hosur line. The South Western Railway Bengaluru Division has initiated steps for this. Currently, Karmaaram has reservation and unreserved ticket counters and only two platforms, while Belandur Road station has five platforms. Besides the Intercity to Kerala, the Yesvantpur-Kannur Express also stops at Karmaaram.
Intercity mein significant delays ho rahe hain, kabhi kabhi 2-3 ghante tak. Train ki average speed 55 km/h se kam thi, jiske karan isko express banaya gaya. Train, jo Vande Bharat Express se pehle Bengaluru-Ernakulam route par sabse tez thi, 578 kilometer 10 ghante aur 45 minute mein cover karti hai aur purane 14 stops ko barkarar rakhti hai. Karmaaram stop ko hata kar Belandur Road station par stop dene ki chinta hai, jo Baiyappanahalli-Hosur line ko double karne ka hissa hai. South Western Railway Bengaluru Division ne iske liye kadam uthaya hai. Filhal, Karmaaram mein reservation aur unreserved ticket counters hain aur sirf do platforms hain, jabki Belandur Road station par paanch platforms hain. Kerala ke liye Intercity ke alawa, Yesvantpur-Kannur Express bhi Karmaaram par rukti hai.
