After the construction of the broad gauge railway line between Kota-Sheopur-Gwalior, passengers from the Hadoti region (Kota, Bundi, Baran, and Jhalawar districts) will be able to reach Gwalior in six and a half hours. The railway line distance via Sheopur will be 284 km. Previously, the project for the 284 km... distance from Gwalior to Sheopur to Kota, via Bina, was planned in 2010-11. However, due to insufficient funds in the budget, work is currently underway only between Gwalior and Sheopur. Preparations are now being made to start work in the 101 km area towards Kota. A narrow gauge line was previously laid on the 190 km distance between Gwalior and Sheopur. Trains were not run at speed on this line. But now, for the convenience of the people, the government has prepared a plan to lay a broad gauge railway line between Gwalior-Sheopur-Kota. The proposed budget for the project is 2376 crores. New stations will be built in 8 towns between Sheopur and Kota. 583.84 hectares of land has been acquired for the Sheopur-Kota new line. The 90-degree turn on the railway overbridge in Bhopal's Ashbagh will be redesigned.
